Jamye started his journey into computers in 1995 on the eve of the Windows 95 revolution while still attending the University of Colorado at Boulder. He beta-tested that new OS and was interviewed by 9-News on the night it was released for inclusion on the nightly news. Jamye graduated from CU Boulder and was hired by IBM Boulder in 1996.

Jamye launched into his career at IBM as a deskside support technician supporting computers (OS and all applications) and related hardware. By 1997 he was co-leading a small team of young IT professionals supporting the emerging Windows 95, excelling at making new solutions to handle the growing population using Windows. Those solutions were noticed by IBM headquarters in 1998 and soon Jamye was added on to a group of senior IT architects that were in charge of all client-based solutions for IBM world-wide supporting 300,000 systems. He was the primary Senior IT Architect for IBM’s rollout of Windows 95, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 7 as well as the IBM year client 2000 solutions architect to prevent problems with that date rollover. He was also added onto a client security team and a hardware configuration team deciding on what hardware to use and order for all of IBM. Other projects he was involved in was early cloud solutions, client sourced solutions, and delivery mechanisms. He left IBM in 2015.
